Dear Families and Friends of SJV,
Thank you for your interest in St. John Vianney Catholic School!
It is a privilege to welcome you to our website and this digital look inside our amazing school. I have always said that our students leave wonderful families each morning only to enter another as they walk through our doors each school day. I hope you can come and look at our school. As you travel through our halls, I am confident you will experience a warm and welcoming community of faith, academic excellence, and a love for learning.
We are deeply rooted in a tradition of excellence and commitment to our mission of sharing the life of Christ in order to demonstrate respect and concern for all persons. Our school environment prepares students for effective responsible living, one where they learn the commitment to always give back to their families and their community throughout the years. Since our founding in 1960, our school has served as a vital ministry of our beloved SJV parish. It has provided an outstanding Catholic education for generations of students not only from our parish, but throughout the Buffalo area.
Our school is fortunate to have a terrific faculty and staff who view their jobs as a vocation. We believe that forming strong connections is of the utmost importance. Our teachers work hard at getting to know the strengths and interests of all students. The relationships that are created help to not only inspire and challenge our students from Pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, but they create a nurturing community where students feel safe and look forward to coming to school each day.
The early years of a child’s education are some of the most significant for instilling a strong foundation for academic success, and for the development of character, values, and beliefs. No textbook can do this, but a strong partnership between home and school and a positive and welcoming environment certainly can.
Everything we do at SJV matters and is considered an opportunity for growth: activities in the gym, at sporting events, in the cafeteria, singing joyfully at mass each week, our service projects, and so much more all guarantee our commitment to ensuring our students thrive spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically and culturally.
We invite you to join us on this journey in bringing the gifts and talents of your children and family to make our community an even better place!
Blessings,
Mr. Andrew Woodrow
